CHEMICAL ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST (KDU)

In order to protect human health and the environment, the T.R. The “Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (KKDIK)” was published in the Official Gazette dated 23 June 2017 and numbered 30105 by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Turkey.

Chemical Assessment Specialist examines the technical file prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change when entering the Chemical Registration system of the chemicals, whose duties and authorities are specified in the KKDIK regulation, which companies import, manufacture or use in goods, and is also the expert who prepares the Chemical Safety Evaluation and Chemical Risk Report, among other duties. . Become a Chemical Assessment Specialist (KDU) by being in compliance with the conditions specified in KKDIK APPENDIX-18, by studying in training institutions approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and passing the exam.

The supplier of a substance or mixture, certified in accordance with Annex-2 of the KKDIK Regulation and Annex-18, provides a safety data sheet prepared by a chemical assessment specialist to be given to the buyer of the substance or mixture.

Chemical Assessment Specialist performs Human Health Hazard Assessment, Physicochemical Hazard Assessment, Environmental Hazard Assessment, and Persistent, Bioaccumulative Toxic (PBT) and Very Persistent Very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) Assessment, Exposure Assessment and Chemical Safety Assessment and prepares the Chemical Safety Report.

Within the scope of KKDIK, a Chemical Safety Report and Chemical Safety Assessment must be made in case of 1 ton or more manufactured or imported substances and the concentration of the substance in the article is greater than 0.1% by weight.

T.R. Through the online Chemical Registration System (KKS) of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the records of chemical substances produced in Turkey or imported into the country within the scope of KKDIK are created. Registration files are prepared by Chemical Evaluation Experts, summary reports for registrations are in Turkish. However, Ministry officials state that the comprehensive report will be accepted in English.
